Easily done in 2 steps:

1) Modify the file "logback.xml"  adding this part of code  right above    "<!-- F-TICKS syslog destination →"

<syslogHost>  IP.ADDRESS.OFTHE.COLLECTOR  </syslogHost>

<suffixPattern>[%thread] %logger %msg</suffixPattern>
</appender>

<logger name="Shibboleth-FTICKS" level="ALL" additivity="false">
<appender-ref ref="IDP_FTICKS_GEANT"/>

2) Restart the service with the following command:


export JAVA_HOME=/usr/lib/jvm/default-java

/bin/sh /opt/shibboleth-idp/bin/reload-service.sh -id shibboleth.LoggingService
