Agenda / Proceedings

  1. Welcome / Agenda Bashing

  2. CAT code and deployment

    • had another few translation runs (missed strings in source)
    • final release testing post-translation revealed issues with some installers in some languages
    • CI and static code analysis runs now all green
    • update on cat.eduroam.org: dependencies upgrade on prod instance tested on pre-prod and planned for 17 aug
    • CAT 2.1 deployment on testing path later this week, switching to real path on Monday
  3. CAT development manifesto

    • We’ve been asked to write up who we are and how we see ourselves, as a reassurance to inst C-levels out there: https://github.com/GEANT/CAT/blob/release_2_1/tutorials/Governance and Code Quality Manifesto.md
    • add limitation of scope to document: only the “original” repo on GitHub is covered, forks are on their own
    • More clarity on how to respond to CVEs would be welcome, too. Add mention of composer and that GitHub notifies of insecure dependencies. Special mention to GEANTlink and that it is currently maintained by a single person.
    • same kind of documentation would be welcome also for geteduroam.app (maybe even more critical as this deploys code onto all client devices). Stefan to nudge Paul about this.
    • Maybe split statements about code vs. statements about actual deployment on our controlled instances.
    • Or FreeRADIUS for that matter.
  4. OpenRoaming / Access Points

    • https://www.grandstream.com/ anyone?
    • Slack list appreciates war stories and lists of APs that support Passpoint/OpenRoaming nicely.
    • https://www.lancom.de (Passpoint in GUI, but not very intuitive)
    • Aruba in CLI
    • Cisco in CLI
    • Meraki only in specific (Spaces) licensing package
    • OpenWrt 21.02 can do (19.07 cannot), but CLI configuration is required.
    • Checking EdgeCore, Extreme Network, Galgus, … (AP305C would be an affordable one.)
  5. eduroam Development in general

  6. AOB / next VC: 13 Sep 2022 1530 CEST
Have a recurring item about Passpoint hardware support
