  • Let's wrap up things and prepare hand-over to GN5-2

Discussion items

  • Welcome to our last T7 meeting!
  • Feedback from TechX and the Incubator webinar 17 Dec?
    • REFEDS WG: VO-Person → VC (Peter Gietz) - fits the subgroup on VCs
    • OID Fed with global perspective - as a perspective for our SAML ecosystem moving away from SAML
    • propsal from eduroam community: VC to pre-provision students and visitors
  • State of report writing: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1XuKIn3wXe9-laNcbTUmAXznVrvrtQUWL_AfJmEc6-t8/editWrapping up
    • CG to check with Stefan on next steps and to pass on the "leassons learned" to him.
    • We see benefits in continuing work on the white paper and have something ready by March in time for the review.
  • Lessons learned, what is your main take-away from over a year of T7?
    • Discussion forum: Open (with limited audience - e.g. vetted over InAcademia (wink)  ) and yet safe place for discussions about wallets and Co. - to get us aligned and help to community position building. Very positive feedback on this element of the group. It is an important topic and we need to prepare for it.
    • Doing: the "doing bit" would benefit from stronger grip on the group and more over-all resources. Resources spread too thinly with people skipping meetings and required to re-engage. More structuring, e.g. with deadlines, in the group helps to get things done.
    • Task structuring: It looks promising to offer separate structures for the "open discussion" (intrinsically motivated and caring about the topic) and "doing bits" (focused and funded one way or another) or at least clear distinction between the two.
    • F2F-element: The F2F-meeting added lots of value and act as "focus-changer" (crappy WiFi adds value too, considering turning off eduroam is recommended for future events)
    • Flight-level: The "technical component" and hands-on elements were largely missing. Clear engagement with incubator and national initiatives is needed too.
  • Farewell to all - as T7 is winding down - but hopefully see you all around in the successor T6 or elsewhere in the coming year. And for the time in between: enjoy the festive season, wind down and re-charge your batteries! And last but not least: A big thank-you to you all of you for engaging discussions, insights and inspiration!
