Scope of the 3rd SIG-PMV Meeting
With reference to our last event in Amsterdam where we discussed various areas such as current and emerging scenarios (PMV Scenarios) we put the focus in Copenhagen on approaches, such as what type of tools are you using in your measurement context, how do you define performance verification/validation in your measurement context, and also a spot on any other DevOps activities like data law protection.
The SIG-PMV Workshop scope would cover, but is not restricted to:
(A) Scenarios/measurement context/environments on
- Service Orchestration
- Measurement toolkits and NMaaS
- Research expertise and implementation
- Operation and Development
- Data Plan Development Kits (DPDK), netmap, libVMA to use raw sockets, tools using those like etherate, MoonGen, etc.
- Data analytics of performance measurements (e.g. with pS 4.0.1) with the goal of discovering "useful" information, suggesting conclusions, and supporting decision-making.
(B) Performance Verification /Validation
We are specifically interested in:
- Your definition of performance verification/validation and on what verification and/or validation means in the context of your work.
(C) Any other related Dev/Ops, Research activities with focus on PMV like
- Monitoring and data protection laws (e.g. GDPR), issues, challenges.
- What would you be able to publish?...Flow data?...can an IP-Address reveal what you are talking about?
The meeting will include a range of presentations on the above mentioned topics. Further there will be enough time for ample discussions that allow attendees to review various concepts requiring deployment of PMV tools, and to discuss the most appropriate approaches to solving such challenges. This discussion will help the SIG in determining the recommendations it wishes to make to the community. We will also discuss what gaps or features may be missing from such tools, with a view to engaging with toolkit developers to improve the state-of-the-art where necessary.
Who should attend?
Industry, Outreach Organization members, researchers, DevOps team, NRENs PERT/NOC members, and/or members from other SIG/TFs they are interested in network performance measurements/monitoring and verification.
Call for Presentations:
If you would like to be a part of the program, we kindly invite you to submit your presentation proposal.
A successful submission would include:
- Title of your presentation
- Abstract - max. 100 words (which helps us to set-up the program)
The abstract can be sent by mail to SIG-PMV SC . Subject mail: ABSTRACT PRESENTATION - SIG-PMV Copenhagen
Please submit your presentation not later than the 10th of November, EOB.
