Background
We have a clear need within Europe to reach out to primarily campuses (but also services) within the federation space and effect real change with IdP set up and usage. Traditionally this has been left to the federations to promote locally, but we are seeing more and more need to communicate directly.
InCommon have had good success with running the "IAMonline" webinar series. It is proposed that we offer something similar, but based in Europe, run potentially once every 2 months with a more working group style meeting in between. This should be organisation / project neutral, with the projects offering content and presenters in. Possible brands are to use IAMonline with Internet2 or IAMfederated.
Current Actions
- Nicole Harris and Licia Florio to talk to InCommon and agree branding.
- Nicole Harris to set up wiki to brainstorm topics.
- Licia Florio/ Alessandra Scicchitano to identify a coordinator within AARC.
- Someone to look at best platform for significant numbers / best experience - volunteers?
- Irina Mikhailava to provide input on best practice for training on webinars.
- ALL identify communication channels for promotion.
