In some environments a native web server authentication module is very beneficial. OIDFed has no such module at the moment. Such a module, with a proper API between the native module and a back-end might also enable high availability and load balanced deployments. 

In this activity we, 

• Specify a native implementation of OIDFed RP apache module

  • approaches to investigate

    • build in top of mod_oidc

    • build by forking mod_auth_memcookie

  • we need a module that we can install from the linux command

  • re-use as much as we can from existing libraries

• We specify a method of communication between the module and an existing OIDFed Stack

• We create proof-of-concept code

• We investigate the possibilities of load balanced RP setups
