Goals for the wallet subtask in relation to the GN5-2 Tech Annex

The wallet subtask will help achieve the above goals by exploring the below eight topics

  1. Current state of the Digital Identity Wallets
    This topic will explore the current state of the digital identity wallet both from a national and NREN perspective in EU and globally.
    Subtopics:
    1. General Topics of EUDI Wallet
    2. National adoption
    3. NREN involvement digital identity wallets
    4. Standards Landscape for Research & Education Digital Wallets

  2. Digital identity wallet terminology
    This topic will try to give an overview of the terminology used in the digital identity wallet context based on regulations, technical specifications and standards.

  3. The role of identity federations in the wallet eco-system
    This topic will explore the role of identity federations in the wallet eco-system from an NREN perspective and among other things see if there are synergies with the trust infrastructure we are running for our existing identity federations. 

  4. Interoperability for Identity Wallets and Credentials
    This topic will explore how we can achieve interoperability of wallets and credentials within the research and education sector sector as-well as outside our sector.

  5. Credentials and wallets community effort
    This topic will explore the possibility to create an NREN community where we can help each others when it comes to questions and concerns in regards to the wallets and credentials we potentially want to support.

  6. Ontological view of wallets and credentials in R&E
    This topic will explore the interconnectedness and relations between the concepts and categories in the wallet and credential domain for the research and education sector.

  7. R&E use cases for wallets and credentials
    This topic will list and explore different use cases being investigate and implemented within the research and education sector.

  8. Global R&E interoperability lab
    This topic will explore what would be needed and possible help facilitate setting up the foundation of a global research and education interoperability lab.
