IUCC’s Cyber Unit safeguards Israel’s National Research & Education Network (NREN).
The IUCC Cyber Unit activities are governed by an inter-university steering committee that cooperates on joint procurement of network security programs for the academic community, resulting in significant cost savings for Israel’s universities.
IUCC was established as the Israel’s NREN in 1984 by Israel’s research universities and operates as a non-profit organization. Among the services, IUCC delivers network security services based on the national internet security testbed and collaboration with startup and major network securty vendors, weekly security reports and also operates the National CREATE lab with the Israeli National Cyber Bureau in their partnership with the U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s.
