At a minimum, the availability and response requirements are defined by the two separate user groups "CA:s" and "web browsers".
- The only web browser using CT at the moment, Google Chrome, requires the availability for CT logs to be "99% as measured by Google".
- CA:s have informally expressed availability requirements along the lines of getting a response within "a few seconds".
In addition to this, the log is required to sign and publish a new tree head at the least every 24 hours. In practice, a new tree head should be published much more often, like a couple of times per hour.
