On the 1st of July 2015 the Trusted Certificate Service (TCS) will officially move from Comodo to the new supplier Digicert.
This space is the home for the new service. The main part of it is dedicated to the wiki where customers can find the description of the service and the relative documents.
Notice that the wiki is intended as a guide on the look-and-feel of the CertCentral portal. It gives hints on how to use the new service; many of the included lessons were learned by the Phase 1 test team. Thanks to SURFnet and in particular to Teun Nijssen for their contributions to it.
The wiki contains the following sections:
This wiki should not be considered a replacement of the Digicert user guide. For anything more specific or more detailed please refer to the user guide in the Documents section.
TCS Membership – Who can apply?
An NREN can join the Trusted Certificate Service if:
(i) it is a National Research and Educational Network (NREN)
AND
(ii) it is from one of the countries listed in the contract between Digicert and GÉANT. The list of countries can be found in the Addendum to the main contract.
Clarification on the definition of Subscriber
The contract between GEANT and the NRENs defines the subscriber as following:
"Subscriber” means a Research and/or Educational organization and/or non-commercial member of an NREN requesting a Certificate through an Account
In this definition non-commercial refers to:
universities, colleges, schools, academies, private colleges, research council establishments and institutes, libraries, museums, learned societies, charities sponsoring education or research, organisations supporting research and education (in these cases the organisation may use the service solely for the purpose of providing such support) and other public-sector organisations funded by government.
