Learning Needs Assessment (LNA): Process in 5 steps
Step 1: Invitation to a meeting
GLAD sends an email invitation for a meeting to Work package Leaders (WPL) and Task Leaders (TL) to discuss the training requirements.
Step 2: LNA meeting
GLAD organises meetings with every activity. During the meeting, GLAD will listen and ask questions. The ambition is to collect views on the current and future team performance, as well as to understand the context of each activity, team strategy, goals and deliverables.
Step 3: Summary email
GLAD provides a summary email. It will include the following: (a) identified needs; (b) proposed solutions; (c) prioritisation, (d) possible alternative(s) and (e) proposed execution timeline.
Step 4.Tentative Learning Programme
Based on the input from LNA meetings, GLAD puts together a tentative Learning Programme. All training requests are arranged in two groups: (1) Primary, the training projects that are essential and instrumental to the GN4.3 performance. Primary training projects are those that are mentioned in the Technical Annex or those directly related to project deliverables. The primary training projects will be executed. (2) Associate, are those training projects that are deemed necessary but aren’t a deliverable. Prioritising associate projects will depend on two factors (a) GN4.3 project participants interest (4a) and (b) availability and eligibility of resources (4b).
Step 4a: Listening to participants
To give a voice to the project participants in this process – after all, the learning is on their part - we invite them to cast a vote on the associate training projects and choose the projects that are most imporrtant, useful and interesting for them.
Step 4b: Checking eligibility
GLAD checks financial eligibility of prospective training projects.
Step 5: Publishing Final Learning Programme
GLAD publishes the Final Annual Learning Programme. It becomes an execution plan for GLAD team to deliver to the project.
It will be made available through https://learning.geant.org/ and sent out through all GN4.3 communication channels.
