Network Automation eAcademyis offering courses focused on the research and education community, with external references that can be useful for us and examples that can be closer to our use cases. It is training by the community for the community. All classes are online courses that you can follow and complete at your own pace.
Maturity ModelUse our Orchestration, Automation and Virtualisation (OAV) Maturity Model to position yourself on your OAV journeyGet a quick look at your OAV progress in four main areas and subsections of our OAV Maturity Model by filling in the OAV MM Assessment survey.
OAV TerminologyIt became evident during a number of discussions with the NREN community that there were different usages and understanding of various terms in the context of orchestration, automation and virtualisation (OAV). As a result, the Network eAcademy identified a list of relevant OAV terms and acronyms and provided short definitions for these terms. It was agreed that the definitions should be based on documents of standardisation bodies whenever possible. In all other cases the Network eAcademy team provided definitions based on internal discussions and surveys. The work was concluded with a document (pdf) that can serve as a guideline to members of the community in the ongoing effort to find commonalities and strategic visions for further OAV-work in GÉANT. All terms can also be found at OAV Terminology.
OAV ArchitecturesOAV architecture analysis has been conducted using the TM Forum Open Digital Architecture (ODA) functional blocks as a reference point. The main idea behind ODA is that of decoupling and integration of components which enables independent choice of solutions for each component, while at the same time maintaining a unified overall approach that supports the full end-to-end service lifecycle (including interoperability). The high-level ODA functional architecture maps the main components by their capabilities into the ODA function blocks. Read more....
Quantum TechnologyWP6 started a new training series as part of the WP6 Network eAcademy which will focus on various aspects of Quantum Technology. The first learning unit "QuBits" is the introduction to a seven part class on Quantum Algebra. The second unit is called “Quantum Algebra: Operator Multiplication: Variants” and guides you into the field of scalar multiplications, matrix multiplications and dyadic multiplications. The third learning unit “Quantum Algebra: Mathematical Operators” provides insight into various special mathematical operators (matrices) that are applied to QuBits (as vectors), and are used in many application cases, for example for entanglement and teleportation.
