In the first place SCOPE is a forum to share, analyze, or build upon new ideas, information new materials etc. We need to find a way to engage the SCOPE community and grow the community with new members. All starts with the discussion.
Step 1. Look into usability and user friendliness of discussion board on the wiki (Nadia + Andrew)
create user instruction for easy usage (Nadia)
Step 2. Ideas for discussion topics:
- Test in the community new best practice documents (1 x Norway, 2 x France) in the community and ask for feedback or question what can we learn from these BPD’s etc.
Pursue French BPD’s for translation/publication (Vanessa)
- Test in the community relevance and ‘up to date-ness’ of the last 10 Best Practice documents published
Nadia to send BPD’s to Andrew. Andrew to draft questions that can be asked (Ndaia/Andrew)
- Ask the community which BPD’s would lend themselves to having an integrated ‘Green content’
Send BPD titles to Andrew/ Andrew will make a selection
- Heanet current activity on power saving network equipment (Andrew)
- Test interest in tender material digital exams Best practice documents (Magnus to prepare a post)
All SC members will actively contribute to posting topics, responding to contributors and keep the discussion alive.
Step 3. Exploiting the best topics from the discussion for a Face to face workshop or regular webinar meetings.
Training
Renater is thinking of redoing the Strasbourg training (security and CERT games). Vanessa, you may want to check possibilities with GEANT training (ian.barker@geant.org)?
Look into possibility of involving SCOPE in such event (Vanessa)
Community
Expand the SCOPE mailing list with people from the national working groups (Vanessa)
Think of others who could be interested in joining the mailing list ( also wider community) All
BPD’s
It will be no problem to deliver the requirement of 5 BPD’s (GCC expects only 2)
(4) BPD’s in the pipeline that started in GN4-1 but have not been finished. 2 from France/
1 from Norway which is ready for publication.
New ideas for BPD’s or test cases will spring off the discussion board, once started.

Planning:
1st workshop depends on the uptake of topics in discussion board. We may need to send a call for papers after launching topics or theme
Training needs to align with other event.
