GN3plus JRA3 Information - Identity and Trust technologies
JRA3 is a part of the GN3plus Project. GÉANT/GN3pllus is co-funded by the EU’s 7th Research & Development Framework Programme. Further funding is provided by the project’s NREN partners. The overall co-ordination and management of the project is performed by DANTE on behalf of the NRENs and the EC.
The work in this activity is organised in two main tasks: Attributes and Groups and Identity and Trust Technnologies.
Objectives
The objectives of this activity are:
- To advance research and development of technologies required to support distributed attribute management for authorisation and groups.
- To finalise the specifications of the Virtual Organisation Orthogonal Technology (VOOT) protocol.
- To ensure NRENs’ involvement in the specification of identity and trust technologies in relevant standardisation bodies.
- To develop support tools for Identity Federations’ operators and service providers to ensure that best practices are followed and inter-operability is supported.
- To research new identity technologies to support multi-factor authentication and non-web federated access.
